Eyes For You

Truth be told I'm nothing but the few things I got in my suitcase for the day.
Hiding from the creatures, keep the demons at bay, there's a few I invite to stay.
I can feel where I'm at from the sweat on your back and the shape of your hips by the way the light falls
I got eyes for you
Eyes for you, I got eyes for you
Eyes for only you
Angry for no reason
Guess I have to take it out somehow, you arch your back.
Flames burn out in masses, allowing me to fall asleep to nature's silent track.

Garden

Red, white, and blue: I find myself at home inside of you
But still I feel ashamed for what we still do
We take and kill and lock
Tell me, when is enough?
Breaking many hearts and forgetting we're brothers
Bone by bone, I will not beg nor borrow
Note by note, I cannot hear nor follow
In the footsteps you walked across the water
As a martyr, you failed
Quietly, I rebel, in my garden
Red, white, and blue: I find myself with hope in spite of a few
Because I feel a pride for what we will do
To protect the ones we love
And I know you love the children
But now we need to change as we learn how to grow up
Bone by bone, I will not beg nor borrow
Note by note, I cannot hear nor follow
Through the woods that you chopped, you took my mother
To use as comfort from fear
And now we prosper
On the backs of sweat and tears
And I feel stronger
As a new world appears
To lift our conscience
I believe we can find peace in our garden
Who do I believe? (Bone)
Red, white, and blue: I still love you

Days Pass By

You won't know what it is to lose what you fight for
Hiding behind the curtain safe from the pain and the failure
But when your pride is struck, will you stop? Will you learn?
Life isn't always what you want, what you thought, what you pay for.
It's early in the morning
The sun's about to rise
Drinking coffee with the woman
I pretend will become wife
Now we speak 'bout having children
'Bout how many, where and when
While the TV in the kitchen says the world is gonna end.
While the spring turns from summer to winter
The days keep on passing us by
Tell me how many of you feel you're alive?
Alive
Now the sun falls in the evening
I'm laying in bed
I can see the stars above me through the ceiling and the fan
I let go of the gripping and the comfort takes a hold
Of the weight that I'm lifting freeing peace of mind and love
"Oh I wasted all my younger years!" says a cartoon part of me
And all the while the world is turning.
While the spring turns from summer to winter
The days keep on passing us by
Tell me how many of you feel you're alive?
Or waiting to die?
I was waiting for the weekend
To live how I wanted in the week
Wasting away on a mountain
Breathing fire from my teeth, hoarding pennies underneath me
The days pass by.
